Our Principal

Rhiannon Polite

Welcome families, 

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the principal of Charlotte Early Colleges. Our school provides students with a unique opportunity to receive an exceptional education on the campus of UNC Charlotte while maintaining a small, supportive school environment. 

I began my teaching career as a high school English teacher here in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I have served as an assistant principal at all school levels pre-k through 12, and I most recently was the principal of Lebanon Road Elementary. As a principal, I believe in setting high expectations for students and staff while building strong relationships so that students can thrive. 

I believe that schools are strongest when we are working together with families and students. As a mom and educator, I know how important it is that children feel safe, supported, and challenged at school. It is my duty to ensure that the Charlotte Engineering Early College and Charlotte Teacher Early College are places where students feel inspired and supported to achieve their future goals while feeling well-known and cared for by our dedicated staff. 

Outside of school, I love to travel. Learning about the world we live in, and the people we share it with, is incredibly important to me. I love spending time with my family, reading a great book, or sharing a delicious meal.
